Kaycee and Dan

Kayce met us at a bridal show at the beginning of this year. She walked around looking at various vendors but quickly came back to our booth because she knew she wanted to work with us. Kayce and Dan had a small wedding in 2020 due to so many restrictions being in place on their wedding date. Like so many other couples they wanted to celebrate with as many friends and family as possible so they were planning another event. They wanted to have a renewal ceremony and party a year later, we were excited to be part of the event! We arrived at the hotel and the girls were having such a great morning, since the wedding party was at the first event they mentioned how excited they were to be at wedding part two. It really seemed to make everyone very relaxed the whole day. We met the boys at the reception venue prior to heading to the park to take photos. It was so interesting to see that the photos from the first date have so many fall colors but this year the leaves were late to change so lots of the photos have green trees. Sometimes I wish I knew the exact date the leaves are at peak color!  One of the best parts of the day was that the rain cleared up just in time for us to be outside taking photos. It was wonderful! We got plenty of photos so had time to stop for some Ted Drews, a St. Louis tradition! The ceremony was filled with jokes and what I would call “real vows” after having been married for a year. It was really special for Kayce and Dan to have this ceremony with everyone around them this time. The party started right after the ceremony and this group was ready to party for sure. We are glad that we were able to be a part of wedding part two and wish this couple many more years of happiness. #ravettaphotography #stlphotographer #weddingphotos #stlouiswedding

Becky and Ryan

The wedding of Becky and Ryan started off on a beautiful fall day at a downtown hotel. We arrived to the girls who were getting ready and enjoying time together that morning. The detail shots of the dress looked wonderful with the courthouse in the background. However, the dress was clearly meant to be worn by Becky instead of on a hanger. She looked amazing and we knew that Ryan would have the biggest smile when he saw her come down the isle. But first we got in some photos with the boys at the hotel too. They were joking around from the moment they arrived, fixing Ryan – who clearly didn’t need any adjustments.

A traditional wedding ceremony helped these two start off their marriage. Afterward they did mention the two kisses they snuck before they were actually pronounced husband and wife – yep we have photo proof of it! We were able to take some family photos at the church before heading off with the wedding party. Due to limited time at the church we gathered up some family members later in the evening to do photos too. It’s always a good idea to get photos with those family members that came to celebrate.

The Urban Chestnut is a place that both Becky and Ryan enjoy going so naturally we stopped there to relax with the wedding party. We captured some great candid images of everyone that the couple are going to love. Of course, we had to get some more “posed” photos at the park however this crew was all about the fun. Ryan was picked up by the girls so then the boys felt left out and wanted to pick up Becky, that lead to lots of laughter. The group cheered as they kissed, moved in and out of photos quickly and keep the energy lively the whole time we were at the park. It was a shame we had to leave to get to the reception.

But really the reception was where the party really started. After a few touching and incriminating toast the dance floor was packed the entire night. Great to see so many people celebrating with Becky and Ryan. Thanks for allowing us to capture this moment in your journey together.

Megan and Mason

An amazing summer wedding with wonderful families! This wedding was fun and excited from the first moment we arrived to the moment we left the reception. Starting off at the house with Mason and the groomsmen gave us the opportunity to get some rare photos of the grooms accessories while the men relaxed. Mason was ready to start the day, despite the heat, he was up for posing outside to get the best photos of his childhood home. The girls were also having a wonderful morning getting ready at the hotel. We met up with them to get those final touches of make-up and putting in the veil. Megan seemed very calm as she got watched everyone getting ready to go. She had her mom and sister at the hotel to help her into the dress, put on shoes and jewelry – perfect photos! A first look with the bridesmaids followed by a first look was a great way to start of the wedding day. Dad’s expression when he saw his daughter was just pure joy!

A traditional neighborhood wedding followed by a stop to the neighborhood hot spot really set the mood for the rest of the day. Fun and excitement! This group truly had a great time all day long and we were there to capture it. Megan and Mason said that even though we were dealing with a bit of hot weather that they knew photos were important, they wanted the best photos they could get, so with a few fans in tow we walked to some shady spots in the park to capture their memories. These two really got more than they expected when it came to the photos of their group. Everyone was looking forward to the reception and we expected nothing but a big party. The dance floor was packed all night long, the guest were enjoying the atmosphere and the time the couple spent talking with them. This wedding was a perfect summer wedding for a perfectly matched couple. We wish them the best of everything!

Kate and Adam got married

Katie and Adam did not know what to expect when planning their wedding over a year ago. As we talked about the possible changes in number of guest or what would be allowed during their wedding they did not seem concerned as long as they were able to have some family members there and go ahead with the ceremony. As it approached they were very lucky that restrictions had been lifted a bit and they were able to continue their wedding as planned. We spoke a few weeks before the wedding about the locations that we would go on the wedding day. Katie and Adam had a list of places they wanted to go and it was unclear if we would be able to get it all in during the time we had. We knew that moving from location to location takes time but all you have to do is be aware of what time it is and make the decisions on where you will go in each location. When we arrived at the house to grab some photos of Katie getting dressed she was ready to get it started as soon as we arrived. We captured a few images of the details and then we got the show on the road by getting dressed and quickly leaving for the first look. As we prepared the first look location Katie was expecting it to be that Adam would cry when he saw her. Of course Adam was overjoyed and grinning from ear to ear but Katie was the one that shed a few tears when she saw him. We were able to get in many photos at our first location and then luckily found some great parking down by the arch and grabbed a few photos there as well. Theater was important to Adam so a photo in front of the Fox was a perfect addition to their wedding images. Finishing up at Tower Grove Park with the family photos and some impromptu images where Adam got down on one knee completed all of what the couple had envisioned for their wedding day. Except of course the ceremony! We arrived at the ceremony location Royal Orleans and had a little bit of time to relax and prepare before the guest arrived to witness their nuptials. Yet again Katie got a little teary-eyed as she walked down the aisle with her dad and afterward stated that she wishes she would’ve had a videographer to show that she was the one that shed some tears instead of what she thought would be Adam. A short cocktail time while they greeted some guests afterward was a nice moment for the couple to spend time with their guest. Once the dance floor opens we could not believe all of the dance moves that Adam had. He was really excited to get out there and have a great time. It was fun for us to see these family members relaxing a bit and having fun together not worrying about the fact that there was a chance they wouldn’t have even been able to get together. We congratulate Adam and Katie and we look for forward to working with them again #ravettaphotography #stlphotographer #towergrovepark #familyphotos #lafayettepark #thearch #weddingimages #springwedding

Chris and Sarah

Chris contacted us about an engagement session. We worked with him a few years ago for a family session – one we wouldn’t forget because it snowed a few feet that day and we took advantage of some snow photos. Anyway, he was now engaged looking to get photos of him with Sarah. They are both originally from St. Louis but currently live in Boston. They have lived there for a few years now. The plan was to be in town for about a month to enjoy the holidays with family while they started the wedding planning process. They have already accomplished a few things on the long list of wedding stuff. It was also the perfect time to get some engagement photos taken in their hometown. Check that off the list! As we walked around the park I had to know since they were both from St. Louis now living in Boston if they met here or there. They said they have known each other for quite some time, Sarah is friends with Chris’ sister. Then the real question came up, if Chris had to get sisters approval to start dating Sara. Yep! She knew they were great for each other but wanted to be sure they knew it too as they started this wonderful relationship. They really are and it was a pleasure to see how they interacted with each other during the session. They were both very easy going and relaxed during the session. Just like any other couple they needed some guidance on how to stand or pose to get the best photos. Once they got a few hints they were good to go the rest of the session. Just a great couple to talk with, we had conversations about many different topics while capturing these engagement photos, a nice start to a relationship with them. The wedding is planned for October 2021 and we hope to have the opportunity to work with them again on that day to continue our relationship into the future. #ravettaphotography #stlphotographer #engagementsessionphotos

Kelly and Adam

Kelly wasn’t exactly sure she wanted to make the phone call to us about changes for her wedding. However the changes we have encountered in 2020 are starting to not even phase us anymore. We have been very flexible with everyone, which we hope makes the stress a bit easier on them. During the summer engagement photos Kelly and Adam said that no matter what they were going to get married in December. They knew that the guest list might change or the day might look a bit different but it was just important to them to get married. Kelly called to sadly tell me that the decision was made to move the reception part of the celebration. They were just going to have a small ceremony with close family and friends. Maybe about 20 people there to see them share their vows – officiated by Adam’s dad made it even more special. We came up with the plan to use 1 of the packages 8 hours this year and then complete the package next year. Kelly couldn’t have been happier! She really had no idea what we were going to say but this option was absolutely perfect for them. Upon our arrival the guests were mingling a bit and we could tell they were very happy to be there to celebrate Kelly and Adam. A bit chilly outside of course but that didn’t stop us from getting photos of the family, wedding party and excited couple. The ceremony was perfect for the day doing exactly what they wanted to do on the wedding day – they got married! Despite the changes they were both all smiles, having fun during all aspects of the day together. They are looking forward to the party next year but for now they can relax a bit and enjoy being a married couple. #ravettaphotography #weddingphotos #stlphotographer #winterwedding

Missy and Tony

Missy and Tony worked with us earlier this year during their engagement session. While we were taking the photos at Forest Park we discussed everything going on with business closing and event capacities being lowered. Their wedding was set for November, with so many unknowns they were not certain of what the wedding day would look like. However they knew one thing – they were getting married on that day no matter what. As the wedding day approached I spoke with Missy and they did have to make a smaller guest list than originally expected. But she and Tony were still very excited about their upcoming wedding day. We made some plans to meet at the hotel to capture the getting ready images. When I arrived everyone was very relax just waiting for the next thing to do. The timing worked out perfectly with everything prior to my arrival so I just had everyone start getting dress while taking photos of the final touches. An evening ceremony in November doesn’t give us any light outdoors afterward so Missy and Tony decided on doing a first look. This way they could spend more time together during the day. Since indoor locations wanted guest to wear a mask it was best for us to do most photos outside. And amazingly we had perfect weather! After a sweet first look in front of the hotel we headed to the park for wedding party photos. A small wedding party of only 4 gave us the opportunity to get to know everyone a bit better. Tony and his best man are quite guys but really know how to give each other trouble and bring out the smiles. Missy and her maid of honor are very close which was easy to show in the photographs by how much they laughed and talked with each other. We could have taken photos all day in the various areas around the ceremony location. However we needed to get to the venue to meet the families. We actually ended up having some extra time before the ceremony which gave everyone a chance to relax. Also Missy and Tony got to spend some time talking with family members, something that brides and grooms often miss out on as they are quickly moving from one thing to the next on a busy wedding day. After an intimate ceremony we headed upstairs to greet some more guests at the reception. Yet again the guest list was cut down a bit, however this really gave Missy and Tony a chance to spend more quality time with each person at the reception. Weddings in 2020 look a bit different on the outside but honestly they are still the same – two wonderful people getting married surrounded by those that love them. We had a great time photographing this wedding and know they will love the photos. #ravettaphotography #weddingphotos #stlphotographer #winterwedding

Jenna and Joe

Fall weddings have so many weather factors to consider, will it be cold or rainy? Will the trees have any color or will all the leaves be gone? And now in 2020 will any event restrictions effect our event. Way too much for any couple to be considering as the wedding day approaches. We have been working closely with Jenna and Joe for months. Engagement photos, save the dates, custom designed invitations and then figuring out the best timeline for their wedding. This couple couldn’t have gotten any luckier with the day of their wedding. The weather was in the 70’s, the color on the trees was amazing and everything went so smoothly throughout the whole day. We began the day at grandma’s house where the entire wedding party was getting ready. This was the same house that we photographed mom’s wedding. We made sure to get a photo of Jenna in the same spot! It’s amazing that after so many years we are now photographing second generation weddings. We couldn’t do this without the support of our clients. The girls were upstairs doing hair and makeup, while the boys were downstairs playing pool! It was wonderful to see everyone on time and ready to get started with photos. Since the sun goes down so early in November and the ceremony was at 5pm Jenna and Joe decided to do a first look followed by all the photos before the wedding. The front of grandma’s house was a nice quiet area for them to see each other for the first time. We took Joe outside to get set while Jenna prepared herself to come around the corner. She tapped him on the shoulder and Joe had a gleaming expression when he saw her for the first time. He twirled her around so he could get a better look at the back of the dress. Such a wonderful moment that we were present to capture! The wedding party, as well as, the family members loaded on the party bus to head to a nearby park. We had a fun time wondering around with this group for a bit getting all the necessary photos along with some fun shots of all the kids. We had plenty of time to get over to the venue to take some photos with family over there too. Then we had a bit of time for the wedding party to head out on the golf course in order to capture some amazing fall images. Surprisingly we were running ahead of the schedule we came up with so Joe and Jenna decided to just relax a bit prior to the ceremony. The ceremony was quick and simple but included all the important parts – the vows, rings, unity candle and a kiss to top it all off! After a few quick photos with extended family members Joe and Jenna were ready to party the night away. They did just that while the smiles never left their faces. We are so happy that we were able to capture these moments! #ravettaphotography #stlphotographer #fallwedding #2020wedding

Liz and Chris

Liz contacted us for her wedding because we photographed her while she was in high school at Notre Dame. We love to see our Notre Dame girls come back so we always offer them a little extra something special with our wedding packages. When she scheduled her wedding I’m sure she had no idea that she would be dealing with anything like we are dealing with right now. Luckily her wedding was scheduled for outdoors so there wasn’t a lot of changes to her guest list because social distancing was easy. The wonderful wedding day started off at a friend’s house where the girls were getting ready, unfortunately it was a little bit of a chilly day but that didn’t stop us from meeting the boys at a nearby park to do a first look. Chris was very excited to see Liz for the first time and as they pose for the first photos together the wind took the veil up in a very beautiful way making both of them laugh. This gave us some great moments to capture as they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day. We spent a little time at the park getting some of the great fall color but they needed to get to their appointment at Busch Stadium. The couple had secured a spot to go inside the stadium and take photos on their wedding day. This is always a special moment for brides and grooms who are real Cardinals fans! When we arrived there was a slight mist of rain coming down however by the time we got on the field it was perfect. We got lots of images that they will cherish forever. Chris even decided to take a photo standing where the manager watches the game, making it a truly fun experience for them to be inside the stadium and the dugout. The ceremony and reception were at the wonderful Lemp Mansion which had a tent for everyone to get underneath because it was a little windy and chilly. Friends and family of Liz and Chris we’re happy to be there to support them as they did their vows followed by an amazing reception with everyone. Despite all of the unknowns while planning this wedding everything came together perfectly. It was such a great experience to be with them on their wedding day we look forward to having the opportunity to work with them again. #ravettaphotography #wedding #stlphotographer #fallwedding

Taylor and Josh

When we think about how weddings look right now we expect them to be socially distanced, masked and totally different than normal. That’s also assuming they are not cancelled or postponed entirely. However for Taylor and Josh their day was just wonderful from start to finish. Of course in the back of our mind we know there something looming over the area but looking at everyone surrounding this couple you would have no idea. We started off the day with the girls getting ready at the hotel. It seemed like everyone was very calm and relaxed while they enjoyed the time together. Taylor likes to be on time so she was keeping everyone on schedule by checking in to make sure the boys arrived at the venue when they were supposed to be there. We arrived after the boys to the venue and they were getting ready which gave us an opportunity to snap a few photos of them goofing off before the we got serious with photos. Wait, who are we kidding, they were not serious the whole day! The wedding was quick and calm before the party started. The venue had an outdoor area that we were able to utilize since it was such a nice day. We were able to get all the photos done right on time so we could head to the park with the wedding party. It was fun going to various locations with this group because we did different things at each spot. Forest park we did all the posed photos, the graffiti wall we started to get a bit crazy and have fun with the poses, then Kiener plaza the arch was a nice backdrop showing off the St. Louis pride in this group! The day wouldn’t be complete without a wonderful reception full of dancing, laughter and fun. We are so happy that we captured all the great memories on such a special day. #ravettaphotography #wedding #fallwedding #stlphotographer
